IMAX just released their exclusive Avengers: Infinity War TV spot, which you can see above.
There doesn’t appear to be any new footage, but instead it appears to be a highlight of some of the best action footage we’ve seen so far.
The TV spot starts off in Wakanda in the plains surrounding the country’s Golden City. Black Panther is getting his troops prepared for battle. Then Thanos appears out of the portal as we’ve now seen him do countless times.
From there we see Bruce Banner, Black Widow, and War Machine look up into the sky. It’s unclear what exactly they are looking at. Iron Man then blasts off after Thanos’ Q-ship.
The spot then cuts back to Wakanda with Star Wars-like land speeders shuttling troops to the frontline. Black Widow looks in despair at the screen as the Wakandan forces behind her appear to have won a battle. But then a whole horde of Outriders pour out from the trees.
We then get a clip of Thor, Spider-Man swinging through the wreckage on Titan, Black Widow hamstrings Proxima Midnight with her own spear, Shuri fires a blast from her Black Panther gauntlets, Thanos performs an ungodly leap through the air, and Hulk roars.
It then cuts to Black Panther suiting up and leading a charge with Captain America, Okoye, the Hulkbuster, Black Widow, Winter Soldier, M’Baku, and War Machine charge into battle. We then get clips of Iron Man and Star Lord before transitioning back to the battle in Wakanda with Okoye and Scarlet Witch unleashing their fury.
As the clip comes to a close, Black Panther says, “Today we don’t fight for one life, we fight for all of them.”
It then ends with Thanos about to crush Captain America with the Infinity Gauntlet.
The most interesting part of the TV spot is probably Black Panther’s voice over. It most likely means Thanos has all of the Infinity Stones, but the Mind Stone which Vision still has. It’s more than likely he was transported to Wakanda after he was attacked by Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive.
We’ve already seen a clip where Shuri is trying to figure out what is wrong with Vision and even offers a suggestion Bruce Bannder had not thought of.
But it also appears Thanos will get the Mind Stone as we did get that quick clip of Shuri in the Wakandan palace firing her gauntlets. This would mean Thanos’ forces defeat Black Panther, Captain America, and company in the fields outside of the Golden City.
It’s not looking good for Marvel’s superheroes!
Avengers: Infinity War comes to theaters in just 7 days on April 27, 2018.
