A new rumor suggests Keri Russell could appear in Matt Reeves’ Batman film as Martha Wayne.
The rumor comes from The B.Y.O Show on YouTube.
Not only do they note that Russell could play Martha Wayne, but they also indicate that Vanessa Hudgens could play Catwoman, Richard E. Grant could play Alfred, Jason Clarke could play Thomas Wayne, Josh Gad would take on the role of Penguin, Toby Kebbel as Scarecrow, and Theo Rossi as Bane.
However, they do note these are clearly rumors and their report is not a confirmation of casting. They do indicate they received this information the same time they received information from their sources that Robert Pattinson would play Batman. Reports have indicated Pattinson is closing in on signing a deal with Warner Bros., but a deal has not officially been inked.
The host states:
“That’s not anything that’s been confirmed. That’s just stuff that I’ve heard. This is information that I had access to back in January that all these months later seems to have come true…It’s not necessarily a confirmation of casting.”
Russell will appear in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker as Zorri Bliss. In fact, her character costume was just recently revealed via Vanity Fair.
Russell has made a name for herself in recent years. She starred in Matt Reeves’ Dawn of the Planet of the Apes as Ellie. She had a break-out action role as Lindsey Farris in Mission: Impossible III, and most recently has been playing the part of Elizabeth Jennings on The Americans.
If this rumor pans out to be true, Russell would join Lauren Cohen, Sara Stewart, Eileen Seeley, Brette Taylor, Emma Paetz, and Sharon Holm as actresses who have played Martha Wayne. Paetz will be provide the most recent interpretation as she plays the character in the upcoming Pennyworth show.
Do you think Keri Russell would make a good Martha Wayne?
