Michelle Pfeiffer Debuts in Latest Ant-Man and The Wasp TV Spot!

Michelle Pfeiffer, who plays Janet van Dyne in Ant-Man and The Wasp, stars in the latest TV spot for Marvel Studios’ upcoming film.

Watch:

The clip reveals a major plotline to the film where Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne explains how Janet disappeared into the Quantum Realm thirty years ago. We get a clip of Pfeiffer looking at her young daughter and fixing her hair, before we get a clip of her in the Wasp suit falling down into the Quantum Realm. As her history is recounted, Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym determinedly says, “We’re going to bring her back.”

The trailer then goes on to hint that their mission is going to face a number of setbacks including “something powerful” that is trying to stop them. It teases this is Hannah John-Kamen’s Ghost.

The trailer is rather epic in scale with fantastic music as we get multiple shots from previous TV spots and trailers. We see Evangeline Lilly about to take on some kind of villainous corporation as she goes on an epic car chase scene with Luis. Another shot shows Ghost phasing through an entire car. There’s also a shot of Ant-Man taking to the skies on a flying ant.

Interestingly enough, there is also a shot of Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang embracing his own daughter. Could Janet’s disappearance thirty years ago be foreshadowing Ant-Man’s disappearance in this movie? If he does disappear could he discover a means to travel back in time in the Quantum Realm in order to stop Thanos?

This might be my favorite TV spot for the film yet. It clearly shows the team has a mission and the risks involved in completing it. And there are a number of risks!

I can’t wait to check out Ant-Man and The Wasp when it hits theaters on July 6, 2018.
