New Avengers: Endgame Clip Confirms Avengers Plan to Undo Thanos’ Snap

A new Avengers: Endgame clip dropped on ABC’s Good Morning America that confirms how the Avengers plan to undo Thanos’ snap.

The new clip expands on the Special Look trailer Marvel released last week.

The clip reveals that Thanos is still using the Infinity Stones. In fact, you hear Black Widow say, “He used the stones again.” Captain Marvel then adds, “So, let’s get them. Use them to bring everyone back.” When questioned about it, Captain America chimes in, “Yeah. Just like that.”

Take a look:

The clip looks extremely similar to what JoBlo’s Paul Shirey described was played at CinemaCon last week.

Given Captain Marvel’s comments it definitely appears that the Avengers will try and take on Thanos to get the Infinity Stones and the gauntlet to undo Thanos’ snap and bring everyone back.

However, don’t get too excited that it’s going to be so straight forward.

As I mentioned last week, Tony Stark, Ant-Man, and Hawkeye are nowhere to be found in this scene. It’s quite possible this initial attack will be a giant mistake and end up with Captain Marvel being defeated by Thanos. Alleged leaked plot spoilers indicated Captain Marvel planned to take on Thanos by herself, and he ends up draining her abilities which come from the Space Stone. Given previous trailers don’t show Captain Marvel in a white suit, it’s quite possible she falls victim to Thanos in the beginning of this movie.

My guess is that we might get a scene similar to the opening scene in Avengers: Infinity War, where it shows just how dangerous Thanos and his Black Order were. I wouldn’t be surprised if Thanos once again devastates the Avengers.

In fact, Endgame writer Christopher Markus hinted at Captain America hitting an extremely low point:

“Cap’s been our guy since we started at Marvel. He’s the barometer for the team. You go look for Captain America and if he’s still fighting, you keep fighting. But if he’s sitting on his butt in the dirt, saying, ‘Oh God,’ that really, really means you lost.”

It’s possible Thanos believes himself a god, and allows most of the Avengers to survive this initial attack. He might even transport them back to Earth. It’s on Earth where Captain America and Black Widow run into Ant-Man, who might just have found the key to defeating Thanos in the Quantum Realm.

An Avengers LEGO set also indicates Thanos will attack the Avengers on Earth at the Avengers base we’ve seen in the trailers. In fact, we’ve even seen clips of Hawkeye torching Thanos’ Outrider minions. My guess is that that short clip is from Thanos’ attack on the Avengers’ base.

And maybe the biggest piece of information that indicates this clip and the special look trailer happen in the opening minutes is Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige’s own words.

Feige pretty much confirmed that Avengers: Endgame trailers and promotion clips would predominantly come from the first 15-20 minutes of the movie.

“I’d call it somewhat accurate. As was the case with a lot of our films, this one, in particular, being able to generate a lot of excitement without giving away one of the many, many, many secrets. I think the Disney marketing team is the best in the world and we’ll be able to pull it off.”

What do you make of this new clip? Do you think this clip is from the opening sequence in Avengers: Endgame? Do you find it odd that Tony Stark, Ant-Man, and Hawkeye are nowhere to be seen?
