New Avengers: Infinity War Synopsis Hints at Thanos’ “Blitz of Devastation”

A new Avengers: Infinity War synopsis teases the deadliest showdown of all time.

The synopsis reads:

“An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice it all in an attempt to defeat the power of Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe. Anthony and Joe Russo direct the film, which is produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo, and Stan Lee are executive producers. Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay. Avengers: Infinity War releases in U.S. theaters on May 4, 2018.”

Avengers: Infinity War is expected to have a gargantuan cast. Chris Hemsworth revealed Infinity War and Avengers have an unheard of 76 cast members. And there’s a reason why there are so many cast members. The film looks to unite the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe’s heroes in a fight against Thanos, his Black Order, and his armies. This includes the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Avengers, the Kingdom of Wakanda, and Thor’s Revengers. Even Spider-Man will be showing up to do battle against Thanos and his minions.

The movie will most likely see Thanos and his Black Order hunting down the six Infinity Stones. A leaked scene revealed Josh Brolin’s Thanos interrogating Benicio del Toro’s The Collector on the location of the Infinity Stones while the Guardians of the Galaxy listen nearby. We’ve also seen clips of Vision appearing to have the Mind Stone removed from his forehead. In the official teaser trailer for the film, Thanos already has collected two of the Infinity Stones. The two Stones appear to be the Power Stone from the first Guardians of the Galaxy which was being kept safe on Xandar and the Reality Stone from the Tesseract, which we last saw in Thor: Ragnarok in Odin’s treasure room. Loki appears to offer Thanos the Tesseract earlier in the trailer.

One thing is for sure, it’s very likely that one of Marvel’s heroes won’t be making it out alive. Especially with a description like, “The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice it all in an attempt to defeat the power of Thanos.”

Avengers: Infinity War comes out on May 4, 2018.
