New James Bond Film Announces Director and Writer!

The upcoming James Bond film, which Daniel Craig revealed was coming back in August of last year, is finally taking some steps forward.

The official James Bond twitter account revealed the upcoming James Bond film will be directed by Academy Award-winning Danny Boyle from an original screenplay written by John Hodge. They also revealed that production for the film will begin on December 3, 2018. The movie will see MGM partner with Universal Pictures to release the film worldwide.

If you are unfamiliar with Danny Boyle, he’s directed a number of movies over the past decade including 28 Days Later…, Slumdog Millionaire, Frankenstein, 127 Hours, and Steve Jobs. Boyle is definitely top talent and I can’t wait to see his vision for James Bond.

As for writer John Hodge, he’s not unfamiliar with Boyle. The two worked on T2 Trainspotting together. However, none of his other credits really stand out. It looks like this might be the biggest project of his life. James Bond is a huge franchise with a ton of history, I’m excited to see some fresh eyes on the character as he continues to evolve into the modern century. I don’t think there is anything better than a James Bond chase sequence. It’ll be tough to see if they can outdo the epic plane sequence in Spectre.

Are you excited for the next James Bond? I know I am. Bond is one of my favorite characters and I can’t wait to see his brand of spy back in action on the big screen. What kind of new gadgets do you think Q will cook up? Who will be the new villain?
