A new report details three Skrulls for the upcoming Captain Marvel movie have been revealed.
The report from That Hashtag Show points to a casting call describing the three Skrulls:
[Alpha] Female, 20-49. Fight experience. Dance or gymnastics preferred.
[Delta] Male, 20-49. Must be over 6′ tall, broad shouldered and muscular.
[Supporting Male #2] Male, 35-45, a chiseled, cocky guy who is large in stature, but not as big as Delta.
Though the descriptions are a bit vague, That Hashtag Show believes the Skrulls will be Titannus, Anelle, and Dorrek VII. They believe Titannus is described as Supporting Male #2. If this is true, then this really opens up a whole can of worms for the upcoming film. But even better yet, it could give us the bridge between Captain Marvel and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here’s how.
Titannus unlike the rest of his compatriots was born without the ability to shapeshift. Though he lacked that hallmark ability, he still was able to gain both super strength and a healing factor. He went through the Super Skrull project where he gained his abilities. He lashed out at his own people causing immense mayhem in the process. At some point, he leaves the Skrull world and ends up under the control of another race. He eventually finds himself on Earth where he faces the Avengers.
The fight between Titannus and the Avengers in the comics just so happens to occur in Tokyo, Japan, which is the rumored location of a major battle in Avengers 4. It’s possible Marvel Studios may introduce us to Titannus as a minion of Thanos. It’s also possible why Captain Marvel might show up for Avengers 4. She could have been hunting down Titannus following the events of Captain Marvel ,which we know will take place in the 1990s. It would make sense that she would return to Earth in order to stop Titannus.
Captain Marvel premieres on March 6, 2019. Avengers 4 debuts just a few months later on May 3, 2019. This definitely leads me to believe that the events of Captain Marvel will play a significant role in Avengers 4. And from there, the next dozen-plus movies will be provided their launching point for Marvel’s next phase.
What do you think? Could Titannus make an appearance, or is it too early too tell? Let us know in the comments below!
