New Thor: Ragnarok Image Showcases Return of a Trusted Thor Ally

Thor’s trusted allies, Lady Sif and the Warriors Three, have been noticeably absent from all of the marketing for Thor: Ragnarok including both trailers. However, a new image gives us our first look at Tadanobu Asano’s Hogun.

Comic Book Movie uncovered the photo which shows Asano’s Hogun decked out in his Asgardian battle attire standing in front of a group of heavily armed Asgardian soldiers. It appears as if he is leading the squad to confront a foe, most likely Cate Blanchett’s Hela.

It was unclear if Thor’s most trusted Asgardian allies would factor into Thor: Ragnarok at all. However, this image and producer Brad Winderbaum indicate otherwise. Screen Rant visited the Thor: Ragnarok set and asked Winderbaum, “It sounds like we’re not seeing Sif and the Warriors Three, but do we learn what happened to them?” Winderbaum responded, “Um…That’s not necessarily the case. And yes.”

The last time we saw Jaimie Alexander’s Lady Sif, Ray Stevenson’s Volstagg, Zachary Levi’s Fandral and Asano’s Hogun was in Thor: The Dark World. We never really saw what happened to them once Loki assumed the identity of Odin and became the ruler of Asgard.

It’s quite clear Thor: Ragnarok will provide answers. However, if Loki learned anything from his first attempt at taking the throne of Asgard, he knows he will have to deal with Lady Sif and the Warriors Three. Their fate might not be looking too good. And if they remain fooled by Loki’s illusion, dealing with Hela will be no easy task, especially if she can easily destroy Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir.

What do you think will happen to Lady Sif and the Warriors Three? Will they perish in battle to Hela?

Thor: Ragnarok arrives in theaters on November, 3, 2017. The movie is directed by Taika Waititi. It stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Karl Urban as Skurge, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
