This past Monday would have been legendary artist Jack Kirby’s 100th birthday. Many within the comic book world paid respect to the King.Marvel Studios put out its own tribute to King Kirby when they unveiled the brand new Thor: Ragnarok logo.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige unveiled the logo on Twitter and called Thor: Ragnarok “an unabashed love letter to his vision.” Feige also praised Kirby stating, “MCU wouldn’t exist without him … Happy Birthday to the King Eternal #JackKirby100.”

If you watched any of the trailers, promo pieces, or anything associated with the film, it is obvious to see the Thor: Ragnarok’s director, Taika Waititi, drew quite a bit from Jack Kriby’s original work. Aside from the two Avengers in the film that Jack co-created, Thor and The Hulk, the aesthetics and visuals in what we have seen so far all have a piece of Jack Kirby in them.

Thor: Ragnarok will be hitting theaters on November 3, 2017. It stars Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Idris Elba as Heimdall, and Karl Urban as Skurge. We’ll also get to see Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner aka the Incredible Hulk, and Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
