Marvel Studios is still cranking out TV spot after TV spot for Avengers: Infinity War. One of the latest TV spots called “Legacy” gives us one of our first looks at Nick Fury for the upcoming film.
Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury, had previously reported he would not be showing up in Avengers: Infinity War. Jackson said:
“I wasn’t in the ‘superhero argument’ movie [‘Captain America: Civil War’], I’m not in ‘Avengers 3 and 4’. They’re shooting them now, and they haven’t called me yet. They wouldn’t let me go to ‘Black Panther’-ville, so it’s kinda like how you gonna make a black Marvel movie and not let Nick Fury show up in it?!”
However, set photos released in January show Jackson’s Nick Fury on the set of either Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers 4.
Now the new TV spot for Avengers: Infinity War shows Nick Fury. If you blink you might miss him at the :06 second mark.
However, it could just be a clip showing off some of the most iconic moments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in order to show how everything over the past 10 years has been building to this confrontation with Thanos.
The promo also uses clips from Iron Man, Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man 2, Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Avengers, and Ant-Man. But before we get to the highlight reel from the past movies, the trailer starts off with Thanos and his Black Order. Thanos lifts the Infinity Gauntlet into the air and then clenches it. We then get a montage of clips from past Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. Around the :19 second mark the clip transitions to shots from Avengers: Infinity War. There are some new shots of War Machine reigning down fire on Thanos’ army of Outriders. Shuri appears to be examining the Mind Stone on Wakanda, and Proxima Midnight appears to be doing battle with Scarlet Witch at the :23 second mark.
That scene of Thanos and the Black Order just sends shivers down my spine. He means business.
Avengers: Infinity War comes to theaters on April 27, 2018.
