Spider-Man: Far From Home has changed from it’s original release and will hit theaters a couple of days early.
The film starring Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal was originally scheduled to be released on July 5th, but has been moved up to July 2nd.
It’s more than likely the film’s release date was changed in order to capture the 4th of July audience that might be taking that week off to celebrate Independence Day.
Not only is the release date moving forward an attempt to get more people into the theaters, but it also expands the movie’s opening weekend reach. The ticket sales from Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will more than likely be included in the film’s opening weekend.
Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film following Avengers: Endgame. It’s unclear if this change in date is to potentially account for a slump following the film that is literally titled Endgame.
Not only will the film introduce Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio, but it will feature Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill.
It will also see the return of Zendaya as Michelle Jones, Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes, Jacob Batalon as Ned, and Laura Harrier as Liz.
The film will see Spider-Man get recruited by Nick Fury as he takes on a number of what appear to be elemental based monsters throughout Europe.
