A terminally ill cancer patient has recently been contacted by Disney after a Reddit campaign was launched so he would be able to see Avengers: Endgame before his death.
Alexander_Q took to to the Marvel Studios subreddit earlier this month to detail his tragic story where he noted he has liver cancer, mouth cancer, and bone marrow failure. He detailed he isn’t expected to live until April when Avengers: Endgame is due out in theaters because his “bone marrow is toast.” He would also reveal that he has a rare genetic disease called Fanconi Anemia and would encourage people to donate to research.
Following his plea, the internet and the Marvel community took up his cause to try and get him an early screening on Avengers: Endgame using the #Avengers4Alexander.
Aye man. Shout out to Alexander. Let’s get my mans to see the movie! #Avengers4Alexander@Russo_Brothers @Avengers @MarvelStudios @Marvel @RobertDowneyJr @TomHolland1996 @chrishemsworth @ChrisEvans @MarkRuffalo @chadwickboseman @AnthonyMackie @SamuelLJackson @brielarson

Alexander was stunned by the support he was seeing:
“It’s been a surreal day for me. There are articles on blogs and I heard someone talking about me in a YouTube video.
I’ve had thousands of messages and comments of support and I’m very grateful.”
He would add:
“I don’t know what the outcome will be but this has been amazing. If it doesn’t pan out don’t sweat it – I’ll carry your kind words with me and that’s worth far more.”
Fortunately, it appears he will get to see an early screening courtesy of Marvel Studios. Alexander updated his fans on Reddit and on Twitter revealing that Disney had reached out to him and were discussing options for a potential early screening!
