Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War is more than likely going to break box office records. The movie company has been building up to Thanos since The Avengers and some may argue they’ve been building to it since Robert Downey Jr. graced the big screen as Tony Stark in 2008’s Iron Man.
The marketing campaign for the film has been non-stop for at least the past month, but the latest ploy is just pure genius. The Avengers: Infinity War cast appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to parody the classic Brady Bunch theme song in The Marvel Bunch.
The clip, seen above, starts out with Robert Downey Jr. singing, “Here’s the story of a playboy genius who was gearing up to form some sort of crew.” Then Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth appear beside him. Scarlett sings, “One’s a former Russian spy.” Then Hemsworth adds, “A god of thunder.” Then Evans sings, “One fought in World War II.”
The screen then switches to Chris Pratt who sings, “It’s the story of a handsome Star-Lord like the greatest to ever walk the Earth by far.” He’s joined by Anthony Mackie, Benedict Cumberbatch and Chadwick Boseman. Mackie sings, “And a Falcon.” Cumberbatch adds, “A magic doctor.” Then Boseman sings, “Wakanda forever.”
Then we are back to Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Pratt who sing, “So then, one day, all the heroes were assembled to fight a villain who packed much more than a punch.” They are then joined by Scarlett, Hemsworth, Evans, Mackie, Cumberbatch, and Boseman who all sing, “And this group was labeled the Avengers. That’s the way we all became the Marvel Bunch. The Marvel Bunch. The Marvel Bunch. That’s the way became the Marvel Bunch.” And as the song winds down Tom Hiddleston shows up and says, “Ah. Hello, brother.” Hemsworth responds, “Shut up!”
It’s an absolute riot and shows the chemistry these actors have together. I know a laughed when Hiddleston showed up!
Avengers: Infinity War is officially out tomorrow April 27. Although there are a number of showings tonight!
