Thanos won’t be alone when he invades Earth on April 27th. He will be joined by the evil and merciless, Black Order. One of the most famous of which is none other than Proxima Midnight, a horrifying evil-doer who could upstage any of Earth’s mightiest. Now, the actress who will be giving voice to the character has been announced.
Proxima Midnight will be played by The Leftovers and Gone Girl actress, Carrie Coon.
Variety first reported the news. The actress then confirmed the casting on Twitter and added another detail about her performance. She also performed some motion capture for the character as well as providing the voice.

Coon is the perfect actress to bring Proxima to life. She’s the only female member of the Black Order in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making her a unique villain in The Avengers: Infinity War. Carrie Coon was fantastic in The Leftovers and gave an Emmy-nominated performance in Fargo. She joins Tom Vaughn-Lawlor who’s done the motion capture work for the Ebony Maw and Terry Notary who confirmed he’s doing motion capture work for Thanos’ right-hand man which we believe is Cull Obsidian. The actor who’s portraying Corvus Glaive has yet to be announced.

The Russo Brothers are lucky to have the perfect Proxima Midnight in Carrie Coon. She joins an an already star-studded cast that includes: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Josh Brolin, Scarlett Johannson and many more! Infinity War is one of the most anticipated movies of all time thanks to the arrival of Thanos and his Black Order. Millions of fans can’t wait to see one of the most famous villains in Marvel’s history make his mark on the MCU. So much so that Marvel actually moved the release date from May 4th to April 27th.
It’s a big deal.
The Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination of an 18-film, 10-year commitment to bringing Marvel stories to the big screen. It’s, arguably, the biggest undertaking in the history of film. A massive, cohesive universe that brought a ton of superheroes and villains to life. Something no other studio or publisher has been able to replicate. Kevin Feige is one of the most successful producers of all time because of his achievements with Marvel.
Now, Thanos and the Black Order are going to break as many of Earth’s heroes as possible. Hopefully, there will still be some left to save the day in The Avengers 4.
