Netflix’s animated film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, is expected to focus on Geralt’s mentor, Vesemir.
A description of the animated film, which was captured by Fandom, appeared on Netflix reading:
“Long before mentoring Geralt, Vesemir begins his own journey as a witcher after the mysterious Deglan claims him through the Law of Surprise.”
The description has since been removed.
A cast for the animated film has not yet been announced, but Redanian Intelligence speculates that actor Theo James could be the voice of Vesemir. James voiced a young Vesemir in the final episode of The Witcher Season 1 “Much More.”
You can hear James’ voice as Vesemir at the end of this video as Geralt remembers his past.
Given he already voiced a young Vesemir, Redanian Intelligence believes “it’s not out of the question that he recorded that line during the voice sessions for Nightmare of the Wolf.”
James has previously done voice work for Netflix’s shows including Castlevania, where he voices Hector, and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, where he voiced Rek’yr.
Redanian Intelligence previously speculated that Harriet Kershaw could also be providing her voice talent for the film.
Netflix announced the animated film back in January on Twitter, “The rumors are true, a new Witcher story is in the works! The anime film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, will take us back to a new threat facing the Continent.”
