Warner Bros. Releases New Shaft Poster – Reveals When First Trailer Will Drop!

Warner Bros. released a new poster for Samuel L. Jackson’s upcoming Shaft film that will hit theaters on June 14th. Along with the new poster they also revealed a trailer will drop sometime on February 6, 2019.

Not only did they release a poster, but Rotten Tomatoes revealed a six second teaser for the film.

The official Twitter account for Shaft has been having fun promoting the film with some iconic lines.

The film will see John Shaft Jr. aka JJ seek help from his father to uncover the truth behind his best friend’s death that will lead them through Harlem’s heroin-infested underbelly. JJ’s a cyber-security expert with a degree from MIT, he also happens to be an FBI agent, so there’s bound to be some family tension as Shaft has his own agenda and is looking to settle a professional and personal score.

The film sees Jessie T. Usher take on the role of John Shaft Jr. Samuel L. Jackson will reprise his role as John Shaft, and Richard Roundtree will also appear as John Shaft. The film also stars Regina Hall, Alexandra Shipp, and Method Man,

A sequel to the original film would debut in 2000 with Samuel L. Jackson playing the nephew of Roundtree’s Shaft, a New York Police Detective. He investigates the murder of Trey Howard and discovers Walter Wade Jr., the son of a wealthy real estate tycoon is the murderer. However, the legal system lets Wade slip through the fingers of justice and Shaft quits the police force and promises to bring Wade to justice his way.
