If you didn’t see the Japanese trailer released last year then the opening sequence will be brand new to you. It shows off Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America. From there it jumps into footage we’ve seen from American version of the trailer focusing on Wakanda.

The new footage includes Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia talking to Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa. We had previously only heard her voice-over where she tells him, “You get to decide what kind of king you get to be.” However, in this trailer we actually get to see the two sitting next to each other.

We also get a new action scene with Black Panther. It appears he might be taking down some kind of rebellious group equipped with automatic weapons and trucks. We’d seen a short clip of this before, but we get a longer look at the fight sequence as Black Panther takes down a mammoth of a man. In fact, it looks like they actually placed the clips out of order in the trailer because Black Panther fires his grenades at the trucks after he is engaged in the firefight on the ground.

There’s also a really quick scene of someone appearing to drive advanced Wakandan technology. The scene goes by so fast it’s hard to tell who is driving, but they look determined. They are also noticeably completely unarmed.

There’s also a quick shot of Andy Serkis’ Klaw firing his silenced pistol. The scene goes by so quick you have no idea who he is actually firing at.

There’s also a second look at the car chase scene where Black Panther tears the wheel from the SUV. In a brief clip we see the SUV with its wheel torn off flying through the air. The camera angle of the shot is absolutely fantastic as the vehicle goes tossing and turning in the air.

Black Panther is only a little more than a month away. It comes out on February 16, 2018. It stars Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, Letitia Wright as Shuri and Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia.
