Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Infinity War after her brief appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming last year. In Iron Man 3, Potts is exposed to Extremis and receives superhuman abilities. However, by the end of the movie after she and Tony defeat Aldrich Killian, Tony removes the Extremis from Pepper’s system thus taking away her superhuman powers.

But in a recent interview with Stephen Colbert, Gwyneth discusses the potential of Pepper Potts receiving powers once again in Avengers: Infinity War.

Colbert begins questioning Gwyneth about Avengers: Infinity War at around the 8:45 mark.

Watch:

Gwyneth Paltrow confirms she is in Avengers: Infinity War. She shouts, ” I AM! I AM! I’m in them.”

Colbert then presses Paltrow and asks her, “Do you still have powers? Can you still do the flame thing with your hand?”

Paltrow isn’t really sure. She replies, “You know to be totally honest, I am unclear. Because it’s so secretive and it’s all on green screen and I’m not exactly sure and they don’t let me say anything.”

Colbert then presses her, “Is there any chance at any point when you were working on the movie did you thrust your hand towards someone wearing, like, a blue suit with ping-pong balls glued on it?”

Paltrow definitely replies, “Yes.”

Colbert concludes, “Then you still have powers. It’s official.”

Gwyneth doesn’t dispute his conclusion, she just responds with a simple, “Ok.”

While Gwyneth most likely does not have the powers from Extremis, it’s quite possible she has her own Iron Man suit.

Back in December, Paltrow released a couple of behind the scenes videos from what we guessed at the time were from the set of Avengers 4. In one of the videos you can see Gwyneth has on a motion capture suit.

It’s more than likely she will have her own Iron Man suit and become the Marvel superhero, Rescue. It’s not exactly a superpower, but it is an advanced Iron Man suit. In the comics it came equipped with an AI version of Jarvis and was suited to her biology and cybernetic enhancements.

What do you think? Will Pepper Potts become Rescue or will she gain some other kind of superpower in Avengers: Infinity War?
