Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot playfully called out Deadpool 2’s Ryan Reynolds for stealing her look in the latest Deadpool 2 trailer.
Dude stole my look!! ??♀️? @VancityReynolds pic.twitter.com/II3VMK9xcT

Ryan Reynolds quickly responded.
Imitation is the sincerest form of larceny. https://t.co/vJQcXxbfs9

If you remember from the trailer, Deadpool announces his new team as X-Force, but he is quickly questioned by Domino, “Isn’t that a little derivative?” Deadpool responds, “You’re absolutely right.”
Fans were quick to chime in on just how derivative the X symbol across the chest is.
The symbol has become quite popular for multiple superheroes. Wolverine famously uses it with his claws.
hope you don’t take this the wrong way. @GalGadot ??? pic.twitter.com/gbtxNSP79Z

We were also recently treated to the symbol in Black Panther as a sign of greeting in Wakanda.

While Black Panther and Wolverine were popular examples of the arms across the chest, some were quick to point out a 90s villain from an Indian flick also makes the symbol.
I think you both stole from legendary “Tamraj Kilvish” a 90’s top villain from India pic.twitter.com/nllJvWmP1g

Tamraj Kilvish did it first in Shaktimaan ” Andhera kayam rahe” pic.twitter.com/46ti8QwHVq

Others pointed out Lynda Carter’s Wonder Woman made the symbol in the classic 1970s Wonder Woman television show.
Technically speaking she rocked it first. pic.twitter.com/Gdw8Oa9of7
