The Grandmaster makes his live-action debut in Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017. We’ve gotten a few short glimpses of Jeff Goldblum’s The Grandmaster, but not much has really been revealed about him aside from the fact he runs a coliseum somewhere in the galaxy.
In order to get a better understanding of this interesting character, we visited Flashback: Comics in Woodbridge, Virginia to pick store manager Troy David’s brain about The Grandmaster.
Troy breaks down who The Grandmaster is, where he came from, what his powers are, and what his role in the Marvel comic book universe has been in this exclusive video. He provides a keen insight on the source material for Jeff Golblum’s The Grandmaster. It gives us some understanding of the character and his possible motivations as well as his overall standing within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Troy hints the Grandmaster might have a larger role moving forward with Avengers: Infinity War as Thanos emerges as the big bad of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
