Cast for Harley Quinn Animated Series REVEALED!

The cast for the upcoming R-Rated Harley Quinn animated series which will debut on DC’s unnamed streaming service are finally here.

That Hashtag Show reports there will be seven characters as well as Harley Quinn showing up in the animated series. The series is expected to showcase Harley Quinn after she leaves the Joker and attempts to become the new Queenpin of Gotham.

The cast includes Joker, Poison Ivy, Sy Borgman, Dr. Psycho, Malice Vundabar, King Shark, and Clayface.

Harley Quinn animated series showrunner Patrick Schumacker confirmed the report as accurate.

Along with the announcement of characters, they also include a description of how the characters will be treated in the show.

Joker

Joker is described as “equal parts homicidal and charismatic.” He’s Harley Quinn’s longtime awful boyfriend who currently sits at number one on the Most Wanted list. However, after Harley breaks up with him, she promises to dethrone him. The Joker sees Harley as his creation and will do everything he can to stop her as she grows in power. Joker is expected to be around 40 years old. He will be a series regular.

Poison Ivy

Pamela Isley also known as Poison Ivy will be in her late 20s. She is described as “sarcastic and incredibly smart.” She’s also Harley’s best friend and roommate. However, she’s also a loner and prefers her plants over people. She will act as Harley’s voice of reason as well as be a true friend to Harley. She will also become Harley’s partner-in-crime. Poison Ivy will be a series regular.

Sy Borgman

Sy Borgman is a relatively new character. He was first introduced in the New 52 Harley Quinn comics. He is described as a former “suave, super spy.” However, he’s in his 90s now and uses a wheelchair to get around. Not to mention most of his body has been replaced with 50s era bionic parts. Borgman is crotchety and difficult. He also serves as Harley and Ivy’s landlord. In his quest to become relevant again, he insists he joins Harley and Ivy on their heists. And if they refuse he threatens to let their home fall to shambles!

Dr. Psycho

Dr. Psycho is described as “angry misogynist dwarf with telekinesis.” Dr. Psycho is a disgraced villain who has been outcast from the villain community because he called Wonder Woman the C-word in front of hundreds of camera phones. Harley is the only one who will have him and Dr. Psycho can’t stand it, but he’ll do anything to rejoin the villain community. Dr. Psycho will be a series regular.

Malice Vundabar

Malice Vundabar is an attractive alien who looks human. Her family is insanely rich as well as powerful. Harley Quinn offered her an internship with the gang in exchange for college credit. However, the only thing she really cares about is her demonic shadow cat named Chessure. But it’s more than just a cat. “It’s a friend and fashion item and it destroys everything it sees.” Malice Vundabar will be a series regular.

King Shark

King Shark is a half man, half great white shark. He’s described as “a gentle soul who just wants to be normal.” But once he smells blood he goes into a frenzy. It can get so bad he will eat everyone around him. When he is in a frenzy he leaves a path of death and destruction in his wake. Once the frenzy wears off, he feels bad about his actions. King Shark will be a series regular.

Clayface

Clayface is described as “a struggling, trained actor until a terrible pottery accident turned him into the shapeshifting villain he is now.” He still aims to become a star and uses his abilities to transform his appearance in the pursuit of landing lead roles. However, he’s a terrible actor and the only work he can get is with Harley’s crew. He pretends to be whoever they need him to be, but he still holds out hope he will make it big as an actor one day. Clayface will be a series regular.

Based on these descriptions it definitely looks like the series might be more comedy than drama.
