The CW’s Black Lightning continues to flesh out its cast by announcing Marvin “Krondon” Jones III will take on the role of villain Tobias Whale as a series regular.
Black Lightning stars Cress Williams who takes on the role of retired superhero Jefferson Pierce also known as Black Lightning. Pierce has hung up his cape and secret identity, but he’s drawn back into the fight when his daughters begin taking their own paths in life. One decides to follow in her father’s footsteps hell-bent on justice while the other is recruited by a local gang.
Krondon’s character Tobias Whale is the leader of the most dangerous gang in Freeland called The 100. However, before he became a dangerous gang leader, he was a rising politician using whatever means necessary to continue his ascent.
Pierce’s father Alvin put a stop to Tobias’ reign of corruption. However, not going quietly into the night, Tobias murdered Alvin and fled into the underground of the city. There he began to violently and methodically rebuild crafting The 100 in his image. With Black Lightning returning to the fray, Tobias Whale seeks vengeance to destroy him and remove his biggest adversary once and for all.
Tobias Whale is described as an African American man with albinism. Krondon like Whale is also an albino. He’s best known as the frontman of Strong Arm Steady. He’s worked with a number of big name artists including Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Xzibit. He recently released his album Everything’s Nothing.
