Off to a Great Start
It’s time to get excited about DC’s upcoming show, Titans. The series premiere will be directed by The Machinist director, Brad Anderson. Anderson also has plenty of TV experience. He has directed several episodes of Fringe, Boardwalk Empire, The Wire and The Killing. What could be better than that? Well, DC Comics genius Geoff Johns is one of the series’ writers. Alongside Hollywood veteran Akiva Goldsman and DC TV veteran Greg Berlanti.
Now, Titans has revealed the first look at star Brenton Thwaites’ Robin.
The Boy Wonder
While the photo’s style may be a little tacky, the suit looks outstanding. The suit comes courtesy of Costume Designer Laura Dean Shannon. She is most famous for being the brilliant artist behind the first Iron Man suit. If this is any indication of how the show will turn out, it’s time to begin the hype train.
Fans might remember Titan’s star Brenton Thwaites from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Now Thwaites is starring as Batman’s sidekick Robin, who has decided to put a team of his own together. Other Teen Titans members alongside the boy wonder are: Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and slightly unusual suspects Hawk and Dove.
Another unique aspect of the show will be its distribution. It was be released on a yet-unnamed streaming service created by DC. Now, at first the idea sounds foolish. But there are years and years of DC Entertainment that could be at fans fingertips at ANY time. Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League: The Animated Series, Batman: Brave and the Bold, all of the animated films, the 60’s live-action TV series, all of the current DC superhero TV shows, Teen Titans, Young Justice and let’s not even start with the live-action films. No wonder DC is thinking outside of the box.
The show is set to begin on DC’s future streaming service sometime in 2018.
