Henry Cavill has been in the news of late and it’s not for the removal of his mustache from [easyazon_link identifier=”B077HP62ZQ” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Justice League[/easyazon_link]. Cavill recently found himself in the middle of a #MeToo controversy after speaking candidly with GQ Australia. He would then storm the box office with Tom Cruise in [easyazon_link identifier=”B07FDN2PBM” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Mission Impossible: Fallout[/easyazon_link].

During an interview with IGN about Mission Impossible: Fallout, Cavill threw his hat in the ring to play Geralt in Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of the [easyazon_link identifier=”0316438979″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Witcher[/easyazon_link].

When asked about what game he’d recently been playing Cavill responded:

“[easyazon_link identifier=”B01K6010FM” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]The Witcher 3[/easyazon_link]. I just replayed all the way through…I love that game. Really good game.”

He was then asked if he’d been interested in taking on the role of Geralt. Cavill answered:

“Absolutely. yeah, that would be an amazing role.”

But Cavill isn’t just a fan of the Witcher games. He’s also a huge supporter of the novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, which the upcoming Netflix television show and the video game franchise have adapted.

“The books are amazing. The books are really, really good… The books I started reading, and they are well worth a read.”

Anyone who’s followed Cavill over the years knows the great story behind how he ignored the big call from Zach Snyder informing he that he’d won the role Superman in Man of Steel. Now, what was he doing? Playing World of Warcraft of course! Not only that but Henry Cavill has been very open about his love of other major RPGs such as [easyazon_link identifier=”B00CJ7IUIQ” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Skyrim[/easyazon_link].

Back in May of 2017, Netflix announced they would be adapting the fantasy series written by Andrzej Sapkowski. As many gamers know, the books have become a very popular set of RPG games that have spawned a new generation of fans of the novels including Henry Cavill, it appears.

With this news, it didn’t take long for fans to imagine Henry Cavill as Geralt. Bosslogic, of course, decided to work his magic with an Instagram post below.

Lauren S. Hissrich will be the showrunner of the adaptation. Her credits include such shows as Daredevil, The Defenders, and West Wing. Currently, there has been no casting news, but its great to see Cavill ready to jump on the project. The latest news reports they are scouting locations for filming. The show’s first season is expected to feature eight episodes and is expected to debut on the streaming giant some time in 2020.

What do you think? Does Cavill have the look to jump into the wild world of the Witcher?
