Netflix and Marvel TV just released a teaser trailer for Daredevil Season 3.
Take a look:
The teaser shows Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock sitting in a confessional as we hear him talk about his character’s evolution following the events of The Defenders. Cox’s Murdock explains, “I once believed that justice could be found in a court of law and in the light of day. But I was fooling myself. Darkness only responds to darkness. And the truth is I’d rather die as the devil than live as Matt Murdock.”
While it can be hard to tell due to the dark lighting, it appears that Murdock has abandoned the red suit and is once again using the black suit he first adopted in Season 1.
The teaser trailer definitely hints at a much darker and grimmer Daredevil. The tone is in line what many fans have come to expect after Netflix and Marvel TV hinted at adapting Frank Miller and David Mazzuchelli’s [easyazon_link identifier=”0785134816″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Born Again[/easyazon_link] story line.
Season 3 will see the return of Vincent D”Onofrio as Wilson Fisk a.k.a. the Kingpin. In [easyazon_link identifier=”B06XRLR1XR” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Daredevil Season 2[/easyazon_link], it was heavily hinted that Fisk had put together the pieces and discovered that Daredevil was Matt Murdock. Joining D’Onofrio’s Kingpin on the villain front is Wilson Bethel who will be playing Bullseye. In a now deleted Instagram post, Charlie Cox and Bethel’s trainer Naqam Washington confirmed Bethel was playing Bullseye writing, “The boys training hard in the lab! Season 3 of Daredevil going to be crazy! #Daredevil and #Bullseye @wbethel”
Joining Bethel as a newcomer will be Jay Ali who is playing Rahul “Ray” Nadeem. He’s described as an “honest but ambitious” FBI agent.
There isn’t a set release date for Season 3 of Daredevil, but it is expected to come out sometime in 2018. Netflix CFO David Wells confirmed the 2018 date on Netflix’s second quarter earnings call stating, “In the short term, we’ve got new seasons coming up, in the second half of this year, of Orange is the New Black, Ozark, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Narcos, the finale of House of Cards, the follow-up series to Making a Murderer.”
