The trailer starts off with a horrific car crash. A truck is ablaze and the fire is spreading. A number of bodies are strewn on the ground and hanging limp out of cars. It’s a memory that absolutely haunts Jessica Jones. Jessica explains, “My whole family was killed in a car accident. Someone did horrific experiments on me and now this super vigilante s*** keeps coming at me.” That’s when the son of a prospective client asks Jessica, “Do you know Captain America?” Her look says it all as she appears to stare at the kid and then walk away!

While Jones is dealing with her own tragic past and attempting to uncover the mystery, she’s posed with a new threat. Her private detective firm, Alias Investigations is facing a buyout!

As she digs deeper into the mystery of her own past she uncovers shocking revelations. The trailer reveals Jones is brought back from the dead and her powers were just a side effect. But she also finds out there are others like her out there. And one of them might just be a serial killer terrorizing New York City.

Jones will need help from her friends including Carrie-Anne Moss’s Jeri Hogarth, Rachael Taylor’s Trish Walker, and Eka Darville’s Malcolm Ducasse. In fact, Taylor’s Trish Walker might even become Jones’ sidekick as the heroine Hellcat.

Here’s the official synopsis from Netflix:

“New York City private investigator Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) is beginning to put her life back together after murdering her tormenter, Kilgrave. Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.”
