Star Wars Reveals First Look at The Mandalorian – Reveals Additional Directors

Star Wars revealed a first look at their upcoming live-action TV series, The Mandalorian, that will be helmed by the man who launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Jon Favreau.

The first image shows a Mandalorian soldier in what looks to be bounty hunter gear similar to Boba Fett. Take a look:

Along with this first image, Star Wars also revealed that production for the show has begun. They also released a list of directors that will be putting their talents to the show.

That list includes Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels mastermind Dave Filoni directing the first episode. Additional episodes will be directed by Thor: Ragnarok’s Taika Waiti, Jurassic World actress Bryce Dallas Howard, Dope’s Rick Famuyiwa, and Jessica Jones’ Deborah Chow.

Jon Favreau wrote the series and will act as executive producer. He will be joined by Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson as executive producers.

Favreau recently announced a synopsis confirming the show will take place after Return of the Jedi and during a time when the New Republic has already been set up and is exerting their own influence.

Favreau had previously confirmed the show would feature new characters and planets.

“It’s all new characters, different planets, and so a whole new piece. But it also fits into the timelines.”

But based on this photo it definitely appears this Mandalorian could be walking through Tatooine. In fact, set photos indicate much of the architecture resembles Tatooine.
