Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Terry Crews Apologizes to “Anyone Who Was Triggered or Felt Targeted”

Terry Crews took to Twitter to apologize to “anyone who triggered or felt targeted” by his comments discussing the importance of fatherhood and motherhood and defending himself against what he previously described as “woke Twitter.”

Crews issued his apology after having a discussion about his Twitter comments with his Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-star Stephanie Beatriz.

He specifically apologizes “for anyone who was triggered or felt targeted.”

He would go on to state he was speaking from his “very personal experiences as a Black Father.” He explained, “these experiences for me are very true and real, these can differ greatly from the experiences of others.

He would finish his apology by stating, “I believe men need to be more vulnerable in order to fix the many problems that we created and this starts with me.” He adds, “We don’t always have to agree, but we must always listen.”

He ends the tweet by stating, “I love every person on earth, and want to see every man, woman and child flourish.”

A number of people praised Crews for his apology and statement as well as Stephanie Beatriz for talking with Crews. However, some did worry that Crews’ apology might deter him from speaking “whatever [Crews] thinks is the truth.”

What do you think of all of this? Was it right for Terry Crews to apologize or do you think he should have stuck to his original statements? Let me know what you think.
