Jeffrey Dean Morgan Torches Armie Hammer After He Criticized Stan Lee Tributes

The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan quickly shut down Armie Hammer after the actor called out his fellow celebrities for posting photos of themselves honoring and celebrating the late, great Stan Lee’s life.

Following the passing of Stan Lee at the age of 95, numerous celebrities and comic book professionals began remembering Stan Lee and posting memories they had with the Marvel Comics legend. Hammer wasn’t thrilled with the way people were honor and celebrating Stan Lee’s life and took to Twitter in a now deleted Tweet.

So touched by all of the celebrities posting pictures of themselves with Stan Lee… no better way to commemorate an absolute legend than putting up a picture of yourself.

That critical Tweet wasn’t left unanswered. Thousands of fans, reporters, and celebrities alike fired back at Hammer for his sarcastic Tweet. But out of everyone, Jeffery Dean Morgan had one of the strongest responses. Morgan, who also deleted his Tweet responded to Hammer.

Looks like you found a way to use others ways of mourning and their memories to draw some attention to yourself. You sound like a real asshat.

Morgan makes an excellent point by highlighting that Hammer’s own Tweet was in fact doing the exact same thing he was accusing other people of doing. He was making Stan Lee’s death about him.

And while Morgan called out Hammer, you can definitely see the emotion in his Tweet and it’s no wonder why as he was grieving the loss of Stan Lee.

I can see where both men are coming from. When there is a national tragedy or event that generates great sadness there are plenty of folks who use social media platforms as a way to not only express themselves but make it about themselves as well. I believe this point was perfectly summed up by comedian Anthony Jeselnik during his 2015 Thoughts and Prayers Netflix special.

I want to hear from you. What do you think of Armie Hammer’s comments? What do you think about Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s response? Who is in the wrong? Let me know in your comments and on Twitter!
