Joker Actor Robert De Niro Lashes Out at President Trump: He’s a “Relentless and Unrepentant, Lying Scumbag”

Joker actor Robert De Niro took aim at President Donald Trump this past Sunday during Samantha Bee’s “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner” event broadcast on TBS. De Niro called the president a “relentless and unrepentant, lying scumbag.”

The event was designed to rival the Correspondents’ Dinner. However, President Trump and his staff did not participate in the real White House Correspondent’s Dinner instead he attended a rally with his supporters in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Robert De Niro stated that it was part of his civic duty to stand up against the current administration in office. He said in part:

“I’m happy to stand with Samantha Bee tonight to support the First Amendment – the right of the president to be a relentless and unrepentant, lying scumbag. The right of his supporters to not give a shit, and our right to do something about it.”

De Niro would also state, “When you are casting your ballot, imagine looking into Trump’s eyes, you’ll find them just above those creepy, white puffy pouches, and saying ‘You’re Fired!'” He adds, “Something will come over you. You will feel an exquisite release and you won’t have to fake it.”

This isn’t the first time that Robert De Niro has gone after President Trump. Earlier this month the actor was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where he went after the President.

De Niro noted, “I don’t know if this is possible in reality, but where I can handcuff and take him away in an orange jumpsuit…” De Niro would add, “This guy has proven himself to be a total loser.”

De Niro also attacked the President back in January during an interview with The Guardian. When De Niro was asked if he would call Trump a white supremacist, he responded, “Yes.”  When asked if he thought the President was a fascist he elaborated, “I guess that’s what it leads to. If he had his way, we’d wind up in a very bad state in this country. I mean, the way I understand it, they laughed at Hitler. They all look funny. Hitler looked funny, Mussolini looked funny and other dictators and despots look funny.”

He would continue:

“What bothers me is that there will be people in the future who see him as an example and they’ll be affected in some way, but they’ll be a lot smarter and have many more colours to their personality and be more mercurial and become someone with the same values as he has but able to get much further and do more damage as a despot. That’s my worry. There are people who look up to him: ‘I want to be like him.’ But they’ll do it much better and they’ll be more smart about it.”

De Niro also described Trump as a “con artist,” “a huckster,” and a “scam artist.” He would go on to describe President Trump as a “real racist.”

“When you see someone like [Trump] becoming president, I thought, well, OK, let’s see what he does – maybe he’ll change. But he just got worse. It showed me that he is a real racist. I thought maybe as a New Yorker he understands the diversity in the city but he’s as bad as I thought he was before – and much worse. It’s a shame. It’s a bad thing in this country.”

What do you make of Robert De Niro’s most recent comments regarding the President of the United States? Will it affect whether or not you see the upcoming Joker movie?
