Kristen Stewart Claims If She Didn’t Hold Girlfriend’s Hand in Public She Could Have Gotten A Marvel Movie

Charlie’s Angels actress Kristen Stewart claimed if she didn’t hold her girlfriend’s hand in public she could have gotten a Marvel movie.

Stewart told British magazine Harper’s Bazaar, “I have fully been told, ‘If you just like do yourself a favour, and don’t go out holding your girlfriend’s hand in public, you might get a Marvel movie.'”

She continued, “I don’t want to work with people like that.”

Earlier in the interview Stewart revealed she changed her mentality from protecting her life to enjoying it. And she discussed what she described as an “old school mentality.”

“I think I just wanted to enjoy my life. And that took precedence over protecting my life, because in protecting it, I was ruining it. Like what, you can’t go outside with who you’re with? You can’t talk about it in an interview? I was informed by an old school mentality, which is – you want to preserve your career and your success and your productivity, and there are people in the world who don’t like you, and they don’t like that you date girls, and they don’t like that you don’t identify as a quote unquote “lesbian,” but you also don’t identify as a quote unquote “heterosexual.” And people like to know stuff, so what the f*** are you?”

Stewart would add, “I just think we’re all kind of getting to a place where – I don’t know, evolution’s a weird thing – we’re all becoming incredibly ambiguous. And it’s this really gorgeous thing.”

She would also discuss Charlie’s Angels and explain why she decided to take on the film.

“I did Charlie’s [Angels] because I’m a huge fan of Liz Banks and I always felt she vouched for me. I always felt, like, she doesn’t think I’m a freak.”

It’s unclear if Stewart’s claim regarding Marvel films have any validity.

Thor: Ragnarok actress Tessa Thompson, who plays Valkyrie, revealed she was bisexual in an interview with Net-A-Porter in 2018. Thompson told them, “I’m attracted to men and also to women. If I bring a woman home, [or] a man, we don’t even have to have the discussion.” Thompson was cast in Thor: Ragnarok in 2016.

Marvel films have also featured a number of LGBTQ actors. Most famous is Ian McKellen who portrayed Magneto. Alan Cumming joined McKellen in the X-Men universe when he portrayed Nightcrawler. Ellen Page and Anna Paquin also portrayed Kitty Pryde and Rogue.
