Mumford and Sons banjoist Wintson Marshall announces he’s “taking time away from the band” after he praised journalist and author Andy Ngo.
On March 6th, Marshall tweeted out a photo of Ngo’s latest book, Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan To Destroy Democracy.
Accompanying the photo of the book, Marshall wrote, “Congratulations Andy Ngo. Finally had the time to read your important book. You’re a brave man.”
After tweeting praise for Ngo, woke Twitter activists began attacking him.
A NHS doctor tweeted, “A dumbfounding endorsement of fascism. Shame, I really liked that one song a while ago.”
One Twitter activist wrote, “I knew my dislike for Mumford and sons wasn’t irrational, cheers for confirming.”
Another wrote, “I knew there was a reason your band’s music made me so irrationally angry over the years. It’s all the fascism.”
Following, these attacks from the Twitter activists, Marshall posted an apology to Twitter and announced he would be stepping away from the band.
He wrote, “Over the past few days I have come to better understand the pain caused by the book I endorsed. I have offended not only a lot of people I don’t know, but also those closet to me, including my bandmates and for that I am truly sorry.”
“As a result of my actions I am taking time away from the band to examine my blindspots, “he continued.”
Finally, he concluded, “For now, please know that I realise how my endorsements have the potential to be viewed as approvals of hateful, divisive behaviour. I apologise, as this was not at all my intention.”
Clearly, Winston Marshall, lacks the courage and bravery that he just days ago praised Andy Ngo for.
He should take a page out of Gina Carano’s book. Speaking with Ben Shapiro after Disney fired her and then proceeded to lie about her via a press statement, she stated, “They don’t get to make people feel like that (….) and if I buckle, it’ll make it okay for these companies, who have a history of lying, to be lying and to do this to other people, and they’ve done it to other people, and I’m not going down without a fight.”

And before that she signed a new deal with The Daily Wire where she will produce and develop an upcoming film.
While making that announcement she stated, “I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same.”
She then concluded, “They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.”
Be like Gina Carano.
