Poll: Who Would Win Thanos vs Darkseid?

They are two of the most baddest villains in both the Marvel and DC Universes. They’ve killed countless people in their mad quests.

We are asking you. Who do you think would win Thanos or Darkseid?

Thanos

Thanos first appeared in Iron Man #55 in 1973 and has been around for more than four decades. He was born on Saturn’s moon Titan as the son of the Eternals A’lars (Mentor) and Sui-San. However, he carries the Deviants gene altering his physical appearance.

After embracing nihilism and worshiping and falling in love with the physical embodiment of death, Mistress Death, Thanos sets out on a path of destruction throughout the Marvel Universe beginning with his home of Titan which he obliterates with a nuclear bombardment.

He’s become impotent when in possession of the Cosmic Cube and has siphoned the energy of Adam Warlock’s Soul Gem to be able to destroy a star. However, what Thanos is probably most known for is the creation of the Infinity Gauntlet. Upon its construction, he becomes omnipotent and eliminates half of the living universe.

Thanos has been defeated multiple times by the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and even Squirrel Girl. During the Annihilation War, Thanos falls at the hands of Drax the Destroyer.

In Thanos’ most recent incarnation by Jeff Lemire, the Mad Titan struggles to find a cure to his own terminal illness. It sees him fall to defeat to the Shi’ar Imperial Guard lead by Gladiator, Grand Praetor of the Shi’ar Imperial Guard and Majestor of the Shi’ar Empire. And there is even a vision of Thanos’ own son standing victorious over the corpse of his father.

Thanos has superhuman strength, stamina, and durability. He can absorb and project massive quantities of cosmic energy. He also employes telekinesis and telepathy along with matter manipulation. He’s an accomplished hand-to-hand fighter and has even blasted Galactus off his feet.

Along with his incredible physical attributes and abilities, Thanos is also a supergenius in all fields of advanced science. He develops technology far outpacing anything found on Earth. One of his most advanced tools is a transportation chair with space flight, force field projection, teleportation, time travel, and movement through alternative universes. He is also a master strategist.

Darkseid

Darkseid was created by comic legend Jack Kirby and made a cameo debut in Jimmy Olsen #134 in 1970 before making his first full appearance in Forever People #1 in 1971.

He is the son of King Yuga Khan and Queen Heggra formerly known as Prince Uxas before he murdered his brother and claimed the fabled Omega Force which transformed him into a rock-like creature and took the name Darkseid. He had his own mother murdered whereupon her death he became the supreme monarch of Apokolips.

Darkseid waged wars across the DC Multiverse including a deadly conflict with New Genesis. He’s invaded Themyscira seeking to claim the Olympian gods’ power for his own. Darkseid wiped out half the Amazonian population. However, during this conflict, he was weakened when Wonder Woman placed a portion of her own soul into Darkseid.

Darkseid didn’t stop at Themyscira. He began a quest to obtain the Anti-Life Equation so he could reshape the universe in his own image eliminating free will. The Anti-Life Equation would give Darkseid complete control over the thoughts and emotions of all living beings.

Darkseid has been defeated multiple times including numerous skirmishes with Superman and the Justice League. During “Final Crisis,” his son Orion fulfills the prophecy by tearing Darkseid’s heart out. Not one to die easily, Darkseid’s life essence is able to endure and be reborn as Boss Dark Side.

Darkseid’s abilities include his Omega Beams that he fires from his eyes or hands. The beams have the ability to erase living objects from existence. However, in Darkseid vs Galactus: The Hunger Vol. 1 #1, the Omega Beams had no effect whatsoever on Galactus.

Darkseid also has the ability to resurrect individuals, teleport through time and space. He can also trap individuals in alternate realities with his Omega Sanction. He has also used telepathy and telekinesis. His strength is immense having broken a lantern ring with his bare ends as well as overpowering the entire Justice League.
