Star Wars director Ron Howard, who eventually became the main man behind [easyazon_link identifier=”B07D8J737S” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Solo: A Star Wars Story[/easyazon_link], called for Donald Trump’s taxes to be thoroughly investigated by a law enforcement agency.

Howard recently Tweeted out Politico’s story surrounding a New York Times expose on Trump’s taxes that didn’t make any headway in the national media.

Politico’s Jack Shafer believes the piece didn’t have any legs because it “doesn’t burst with the crowd-pleasing juices of pieces about mistress payoffs, Russian meddling, the firing of FBI Director James B. Comey, the hurricane response in Puerto Rico, Hope Hicks’ lies, and Kellyanne Conway and the Hatch Act.”

TMZ caught up with Howard at an airport to get more of his thoughts on the article and what he thinks should be done.

Howard states, “I think it has to be explored by, probably, law enforcement, or something.”

Howard explains, “Any time there’s tax fraud, somebody aught to be chasing it down.”

Howard explains what he hope to see, “Anything like that should be explored. Where there’s smoke there’s fire. If that turns out to be the case then certainly we’d want to know about it.”

Howard was asked whether or not he thinks this story could affect Trump’s 2020 reelection chances. He simply replied, “I think it really depends on some real concrete action.”
