Supergirl alum Jenna Dewan Tatum who played Lucy Lane recently did an absolutely gorgeous photoshoot for Health Magazine.
Jenna Dewan Tatum’s Lucy Lane played a key role in the first season of Supergirl. She was Jimmy Olsen’s current girlfriend at the time. It created difficulties for the budding romance between Melissa Benoist’s Kara Danvers and Mehcad Brooks’ Jimmy Olsen.
The two had an awkward conversation in a coffee shop about the potential romance between Supergirl and Jimmy Olsen.
While Lucy and Jimmy Olsen’s relationship would eventually end. Jenna Dewan Tatum’s Lucy Lane would go on to become the Director of the D.E.O. Unfortunately, that position wouldn’t last for long either. She would end up getting mind controlled by Myriad under the orders of Non. She releases all of the prisoners currently being held by the D.E.O. She even attacks Supergirl and shoots her with a Kryptonite bullet to slow her down. Supergirl eventually saves the day and the Martian Manhunter is reinstated as the Director of D.E.O.
While Jenna Dewan Tatum has moved on from Supergirl, I wouldn’t be surprised if she landed herself another comic book related role in the future. Take a look at the photoshoot she did for Health Magazine.
Jenna started her career as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson along with *NSYNC and Sean Combs. In 2006, she landed a starring role in Step Up.
On the set of Step Up she met her husband Channing Tatum and the two got married in 2009. They would then welcome Everly or Evie as Jenna calls her to their family in 2013. Tatum is expected to star in the upcoming Gambit movie.
After her breakout role in Step Up, she would star in American Horror Story as well as Supergirl. And most recently she hosted the Jennifer Lopez-backed dance competition, World of Dance.
Jenna has a close relationship with her mom, “Through it all, she made sure I was her first priority. She had a real sense of survival, and she passed that down to me. No matter what is thrown at me in life, I know I can handle it, and that’s because of her.”
Jenna explains what makes her feel strong, “Any time I get to use my body—whether it’s a role that requires stunts or something that allows me to dance. I also feel strong when I’m able to be my free, goofy self.”
In order to keep in shape she does dance-based workouts with Jennifer Johnson. “We dance, we do routines for 45 minutes to an hour, whatever time we have. It depends on the week, but if I get one or two workouts in, I’m happy.”
Jenna also reveals she still primarily eats vegan food. However, being married to Channing Tatum has made her learn to adapt and become accommodating. She says Channing Tatum will do meatless including pasta and risottos.
She maintains her strong marriage with Channing Tatum by being self-conscious and aware. She elaborates, “A couple needs to be conscious and to want to do the work and be willing to look at the parts of you that need work.”
She also explains they aren’t perfect and like other couples, they fight and and disagree. Some days they don’t even like each other.
What comic book role do you see Jenna Dewan Tatum taking on next?
