A brand new side side scrolling Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game was recently announced by publisher Dotemu and developer Tribute Games in partnership with Nickelodeon.
The game called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is directly inspired by the classic TMNT game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time.

The game follows Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello as they have to fight against the machinations of Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang, and Shredder.
The official description reads, “With Bebop and Rocksteady amassing gizmos to support Krang and Shredder’s latest scheme, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge finds the turtles battling through a breathless tour of iconic TMNT locations to thwart their nemeses’ most diabolical plan yet.”
It continues, “Armed with shell-shocking new abilities built on a foundation of classic brawling mechanics, the gang are in for an exhilarating, Foot Clan-stomping romp leading them through the sewers and bustling boroughs of New York City all the way to Dimension X.”
Dotemu is no stranger to side-scrolling beat-em-up games as they recently published Streets of Rage 4, which won Best Action game at The Game Awards 2020.
As for Tribute Games their library includes Panzer Paladin, Flinthook, Mercenary Kings.
According to a press release, some of the creators behind the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game released for Game Boy Advance in 2007 as well as Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game now work for Tribute Games.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is being developed for both PC and consoles.
No release date was announced.
