Rockstar Announces Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Exclusives!

You’ve no doubt heard about Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s been out on console since last year, but Rockstar has been quietly working on its PC counterpart.

Red Dead Redemption 2  is set to release on November 5th for PC, and it’s going to be a little bit different than its console brethren.

Obviously the first difference is in graphics. Improved lighting and textures, and increased draw distances are some things a player will notice as the graphics will take advantage of modern GPU hardware. However, there’s plenty more.

Rockstar states:

“New graphical and technical enhancements for deeper immersion include increased draw distances for better navigation; high quality global illumination and ambient occlusion for improved day and night lighting; higher quality snow trails, improved reflections and deeper, higher resolution shadows at all distances; tessellated tree textures and improved grass and fur textures for added realism in every plant and animal.”

The game will offer “HDR support, the ability to run high-end display setups with 4K resolution and beyond, multi-monitor configurations, widescreen configurations, faster frame rates and more.”

Brand New Content

The PC version will have content that was not in the previous release:

The Bounty Hunter missions include Herman Zizendorf a thief whose stealing tools in Blackwater, Ex-Confederate Cavalry Officer Camille de Millemont out of Catfish Jacksons, and Bart Cavanaugh who runs a gang out of Big Valley.

The two new gang hideouts will be located at Gaptooth Breach and Solomon’s Folly.

The new weapons include an M1899 Pistol, Evans Repeater, High Roller Revolver, and Le Mat Revolver.

The treasure maps will be found in Landmarks of Riches and The Elemental Trail maps.

The new horses include:

There will also be three new variations of the Buttermilk Buckskin Kentucky Saddler, the Liver Chestnut Morgan, and the Gold Palomino Tennessee Walker.

The five new trinkets include:

For those new to or hearing about Red Dead Redemption 2, it’s a critically acclaimed and player approved masterpiece. The game really gives the player an authentic wild west experience with a fun single player story and online multiplayer.

When the game released on October 26th of last year, consensus among industry publications was 10/10. The game has a 97 Metascore and an 8.1 User Score on Metacritic. Red Dead Redemption 2  lives up to the hype, and is also a very solid streaming title.

With all of the improvements, it’s hard to think Red Dead Redemption 2 won’t continue its success on PC.
