After taking to the streets of Paris in last year’s Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Ubisoft will take us to London in 1868 at the height of the Industrial Revolution. According to The Verge, Jacob and Evie Frye will feature as the main protagonists as they carve their path through the London Underground.
As you will see the trailer doesn’t show much of Evie, instead Jacob is the focus performing now well-known combat techniques from the series. There is a hint at one new feature as the video concludes with Jacob leading his gang into battle. It is very reminiscent of Gangs of New York or Peaky Blinders.
Ubisoft has described the game as more of a brawler than previous titles and the trailer definitely showcases that aspect with two beefy guys fighting underground ala Fight Club. One typical staple of many of the Assassin’s Creed games that was lacking was masterful swordplay. Instead Jacob’s weapon of choice seems to be a long shiv that would be more useful in street gang warfare.
Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate hits stores on October 23rd for PC, PS4, and X-Box One. Will you be playing?
