Ubisoft Unleashes Gods & Monsters Cinematic Trailer with Female Protagonist at E3

Ubisoft unleashed their first cinematic trailer for Gods & Monsters with a female protagonist.

The cinematic trailer gives you an idea of the animation style Ubisoft is going for as well as a little bit of the action players might expect as a female warrior leaps through the air and hacks apart an angry harpy.

Take a look.

They didn’t really provide any details about the game during the presentation. The website describes the game as a “storybook adventure about a forgotten hero on a quest to save the Greek gods.”

One of Ubisoft’s game leaders Jonathan Dumont spoke to Venture Beat about the game. “It’s the story of the most courageous greek hero: you. You are named Phoenix, and your task is to help the Olympians save the Island of the Blessed. To do it, you have to venture into the Underworld and defeat Typhon and his minions.”

Dumont continues, “The world is vibrant, with light role-playing game mechanics. You will fight Harpies, Cyclops, and other beasts.” Venture Beat describes that the game will feature “over-the-top mythical combat, puzzles, and world challenges.”

Here’s the official description:

“Embark on a journey to the Isle of the Blessed, taken over by dangerous creatures of mythology. Prove your legendary heroism by taking on their leader, Typhon, the deadliest monster in all of mythology in a face-off for the age. Explore a beautiful fantasy world where tricky puzzles, mysterious dungeons and heroic feats await. The journey will be as challenging and rewarding as the final destination. Will you be the Hero of the legends foretold?”

Players will be granted powers by the Greek gods as they journey across the Isle of the Blessed in an attempt to restore the Greek Gods’ powers. During their journey, players will encounter Gorgons, Hydras, Cyclops and more.

The game is being described as an “open world.”

It will be available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Nintendo Switch on February 25, 2020.
