George Miller returns with his post-apocalyptic wasteland epic in Mad Max: Fury Road. Tom Hardy replaces Mel Gibson as Max Rockatansky and Charlize Theron makes her debut as Imperator Furiosa.
The plot focuses on Furiosa attempting to flee crazed psychopaths, who have definitively devolved since the original Mad Max. They are crazier, scarier and equipped with even more insane vehicles, outfits and weapons. Can you say guitar flamethrower?
Tom Hardy’s voice-over in the beginning of the trailer sets a bleak tone and adds some stark introspection to the otherwise action-packed trailer. There is still quite a bit of mystery surrounding Theron’s Furiosa. Why were the psychopaths keeping the women locked up? What motivates Furiosa to flee with the others?
I will definitely be looking for these answers when I see the movie in less than a month. Mad Max: Fury Road debuts May 15th, 2015. Will you be watching? What do you think about Tom Hardy being cast as Mad Max?
