Satanic Temple Threatens Legal Action Against Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina!
The co-founder of the Satanic Temple Lucien Greaves took to Twitter on Sunday to indicate his organization is “taking legal action” against Netflix because they believe The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina appropriated their “copyrighted monument design.”
Yes, we are taking legal action regarding #TheChillingAdventuresofSabrina appropriating our copyrighted monument design to promote their asinine Satanic Panic fiction.

Greaves asserts the show directly copied their monument design of Baphomet.
No. We mean our unique monument design that didn’t serve as an inspiration, but was directly replicated on the show.

He also indicates the statue is a “central image” for his organization.
You’re right. In fact, we just went to the junk yard and picked up a centuries old monument and called it our own. It’s not as if we spent a year and half designing and financing it, seeing it become our central image only to have it exactly replicated by this show.

The San Francisco Chronicle confirmed that the Satanic Temple’s lawyer did send a letter to Netflix about the statue.
Here’s a look at the original satanic Temple statue:
And here’s a look at The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s statue from Episode 10 of the series:
The two statues are extremely similar and both feature children looking up at Baphomet. It’s hard to see the second child in the above image as he’s behind Sabrina’s classmate.
There are some differences. The Netflix version appears to have a wider chest and the kids are also spaced further apart from the main figure. The Satanic Temple version also has a headstone with a pentagram engraved on it standing behind the main statue.
What do you make of the Satanic Temple’s legal threats? Do you think Netflix ripped off their statue?
