Avengers: Endgame Concept Art Depicts Thanos with Eternals
Avengers: Endgame concept art showcases a young Thanos standing next to an Eternals family.
The concept art comes courtesy of Ryan Lang, who posted it on his Instagram. However, he has since deleted the post, but it was quickly captured and shared on Twitter.
According to ComicBook, Lang captioned the photo, “Thanos family portrait (not really). I was asked to visualize what Eternals looked like next to a young Thanos. I think there was a flash back at one point. That’s all I know. PERIOD. Be polite, or get blocked.”
The concept art seen below could give us a first glimpse at what we can expect from Marvel’s upcoming The Eternals movie.

It’s possible this Eternals family might have been Thanos’ family. His family in the comics included his father A’lars, his mother Sui-San, and his brother Eros aka Starfox. As Lang notes it could have been from a flashback scene that was eventually not included in the film.
The concept art is somewhat similar to how the Eternals are depicted in Thanos Rising. Lang does make his own adjustments. He shaves the sides of the female Eternals head, but allows her hair to flow down from the middle. He makes it much longer than Sui-San’s haircut having it fall well below her shoulders similar to A’lars’ length.
It’s as if he reversed A’lars’ hairstyle and put it on the female Eternal. He completely shaves the male figure and gives the child a similar haircut to its mother.
It’s quite possible we might see this design used in the upcoming Eternals movie which is rumored to feature Richard Madden as Ikaris, Angelina Jolie as Sersi, and even Keanu Reeves as the antagonist Druig.
It’s unclear if The Eternals film will reference Thanos, but in the comics as seen above, Thanos is the son of two Eternals. However, he has a Deviant gene which drives his mother to want to kill the young Thanos at birth.
Thanos’ Deviant gene would give him his purple color and jarring facial features. He would also commit mass genocide against the Eternals as he launched a massive nuclear attack on his own planet of Titan in the comics.
The Eternals film directed by Chloe Zhao is expected to showcase the struggle between the Eternals and Deviants. Rumors also indicate a young Odin is expected to cameo in the film so it’s possible Thanos could be referenced as well.
What do you make of this Eternals concept art? Is this how you would like to see them?
