Naruto x Boruto Ninja Tribes Announced

Crunchyroll Games and Bandai Namco announced a brand new partnership alongside a new browser and mobile game title Naruto x Boruto Ninja Tribes.

The game is described as a “team-based battle game.” It will feature multiple generations of Naruto characters including Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura of the original team 7 as well as Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki.

Details on the game are a bit sparse at this point, but the game will feature one-tap team-based battles. Here’s how Crunchyroll Games describes it:

“In combat, players will be able to show the strength of shinobi bonds with overwhelming duo and trio attacks unique to each character combination from the new Team 7 teamwork and father-and-son Rasengan with the Seventh Hokage Naruto and Boruto, all rendered in high-quality 2D visuals that evoke the same sense of speed and impact originally envisioned by the anime series.”

Here’s an idea of what the combat and gameplay will look. It looks similar to Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes and DC Legends: Battle for Justice.

They did provide us some screen shots of the co-op sequences. You can see Naruto teaming up with Boruto below.

We also got a look at a trio attack from Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki.

You can get a better look at these attack combinations on the official website.

The game will be available on PC browsers, iOS, and Android devices. They promise the browser version “adds a unique IP experience, connecting the game with the original anime for Naruto/Boruto fans.” It’s unclear what exactly the unique IP experience will be.

Crunchyroll Games promises they will have a sneak peak of the game’s first mission as well as a playable demo at Crunchyroll Expo in San Jose, California from August 30 to September 1. The game will be featured during the Crunchyroll Games Industry Panel on August 30th at 1:45 PM PT.

Pre-registration for the game is available now.
