Cosplay of the Day: Jessica the Maid of Might as Harley Quinn

Cosplayer and actress Jessica the Maid of Might showed off what appears to be a brand new Harley Quinn cosplay to start off the month of October.

She stated, “Happy first day of SPOOP!” Take a look at her Harley Quinn.

Jessica the Maid of Might is no stranger to Harley Quinn. She’s done a number of variations of Harley’s costume in the past. She previously did a Suicide Squad adaptation of Harley’s gold and black dress.

She also did Harley’s main Suicide Squad outfit as well.

Harley Quinn was originally created for Batman: The Animated Series by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm in 1992. The character was voiced by actress Arleen Sorkin and first appeared in the episode Joke’s Favor.

Harley would make her jump into comic books in The Batman Adventures #12  from writer Kelley Puckett and artists Mike Parobeck, Rick Burchett and Rick Taylor. Her origins would later be recounted in 1994’s The Batman Adventures: Mad Love by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm. Harley was actually a Arkham Asylum Psychiatrist named Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel. While attempting to treat the Joker she falls in love with him and helps him escape. She eventually becomes hisJoker’s accomplice and always tries to return to his despite him repeatedly insulting, deriding, and even attempting to kill her.

The character has already become a DC Comics icon. The character made her first appearance in live-action in The WB’s Birds of Prey TV series played by actress Mia Sara. She would make her big screen debut in Suicide Squad played by Margot Robbie. Robbie will be reprising her role as Harley Quinn in the upcoming Birds of Prey film as well as James Gunn’s Suicide Squad film.

Quinn has appeared in a numerous animated series and films since she debuted in Batman: The Animated Series. The character has been voiced by Tara Strong, Hynden Walch, Grey DeLisle, Meghan Strange, Laura Bailey, Jenny Slate, Melissa Rauch, Laura Post, Sirena Irwin, Kang Ji-young, Rie Kugimiya, Jen Brown, and Janyse Jaud.

She will be the star of an upcoming animated series that is expected to debut on DC Universe. Kaley Cuoco will provide the voice for Harley.
