Joe Manganiello Joins Cause to Release Justice League Snyder Cut and Shares New Deathstroke Images
The man who played Deathstroke at the tail end of Justice League, Joe Manganiello, followed the lead of his castmates and showed support for the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign.
Manganiello also shared previously unreleased behind-the-scenes images from the yacht they filmed his after-credits scene on.
On his Instagram, the 42-year-old actor posted a series of stills of himself in full Deathstroke gear and hanging out with Snyder and the crew between takes. He captioned the post with the trending #ReleaseTheSnyderCut hashtag. You can look at his post below:

Manganiello joins Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck, Ray Fisher, and Snyder himself in championing the Snyder Cut on social media. The latter all tweeted the hashtag this past Sunday and got a reaction from Snyder. Fisher and Gadot, like Manganiello, shared accompanying, never-before-seen photos.

Snyder also shared an image of Manganiello as Deathstroke via Vero. In the caption, the director revealed the shoot took place in Monte Carlo and refers to the True Blood star as “This fella.”
It’s been two years since the release of Justice League and its disappointing box office haul. In the theatrical version, Deathstroke is summoned by Lex Luthor, who just escaped jail, to start the formation of the Injustice League.
The original plan was to set up for The Batman when it was still going to star and be directed by Ben Affleck. Deathstroke was the slated villain and Arkham Asylum would’ve played a part in some way, according to Affleck’s cinematographer, Robert Richardson.

Odds are Manganiello won’t get to show us what he can do as Deathstroke. A solo film was in the offing along with The Batman – along with a possible appearance in The Suicide Squad – but those plans appear to be canceled.
The character is still swinging his sword as the chief villain in season two of Titans and is rumored to be up for a few animated adaptations, including a CW Seed series and a movie.

Snyder left his active role in the DC Extended Universe after a family tragedy and ever since the DCEU has been undergoing a reboot. Some of the continuity remains in Shazam! and Aquaman, and possibly will carry on in Wonder Woman 1984.

Fervent fans want to see Snyder’s full vision realized, however, and started the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign. A year of posts to Vero by Snyder showing us deleted scenes, visual effects, and storyboards kept the pot boiling.
Things grew and took a turn at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con where ad space was purchased to promote the campaign and raise money for suicide awareness.
New images from Jason Momoa – who says he’s seen the Snyder Cut – and Zack Snyder this month revealed Justice League’s original ending, fueling the fire further. Aquaman stabs Steppenwolf before Wonder Woman executes the killing blow.
