Rumor: Captain Pike Star Trek Series In The Pipeline At CBS
A new rumor indicates that a Captain Pike Star Trek series is in the pipeline at the CBS.
The rumor comes from Giant Freakin Robot, who report, “We’ve heard from two different sources now that one of those two shows will likely be about Captain Pike and the crew of his NCC-1701 Enterprise.”
They add, “The series will follow Captain Christopher Pike and his crew as they take the Enterprise out on a new five-year mission to explore strange new worlds.”
Giant Freakin Robot are not the only ones to report on this rumor. We Got This Covered also reports that Captain Pike series is in the works. They report “that a Pike is in development for CBS All Access.”

They also indicate that Ethan Peck’s Spock and Rebecca Romijn’s Number One will join Anson Mount’s Captain Pike in the Star Trek: Discovery spin-off.
These rumors come after ViacomCBS President and CEO Bob Bakish detailed that CBS was developing two unnamed Star Trek series alongside Star Trek: Picard and Star Trek: Discovery.
Bakish stated on VaicomCBS’ Q4 2019 Earnings Conference Call, “Building on Discovery & Picard, we now have two additional series in production at CBS All Access and Nickelodeon, and two more series in development.”
“Building on Discovery & Picard, we now have 2 addtl series in production at @CBSAllAccess & @Nickelodeon, & 2 more series in development; plus, a series of Picard novels being rolled out at @simonschuster, & a highly anticipated new #StarTrek film at @ParamountPics.” – BB $VIAC

The two shows in production are more than likely Star Trek: Lower Decks and an untitled Nickelodeon animated series being developed by the Hageman brothers.
The other series is more than likely the announced Star Trek: Discovery spin-off Section 31 starring Michelle Yeoh. That means one of the series was still a mystery.
As we speculated back in February that other show could be a Pike spin-off series following the adventures of The Enterprise.
A rumor back at the end of January indicated that a Pike series would be announced at San Diego Comic-Con. They also indicated there would be a Starfleet Academy series. It’s possible that could be the untitled Nickelodeon series.

Not only was there a rumor at the end of January about a possible Pike series, but CBS’ Star Trek boss Alex Kurtzman previously hinted at the possibility of a Pike series.
” I would be remiss in saying you’re going to see Spock again on Discovery because we’ve obviously jumped so far into the future that it wouldn’t make sense…. but the the idea of bringing Ethan [Peck] back, and Anson [Mount] and Rebecca [Romijn] and the Enterprise, I mean, we loved it so much, and to find a way to do that is definitely something we’re thinking about.”
What do you make of this latest rumor? Would you be interested in seeing an Enterprise series that includes Anson Mount’s Captain Pike, Rebecca Romijn’s Number One, and Ethan Peck’s Spock?
