Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige recently confirmed that Riri Williams a.k.a. Ironheart will appear in the upcoming Black Panther 2 film.

While promoting the upcoming Shang-Chi film, Feige spoke with where he confirmed the character would show up in Black Panther 2.

Feige explained, “We’re shooting Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, right now, and the character of Riri Williams, you will meet in Black Panther 2 first.”

He then added, “She started shooting, I think, this week before her Ironheart series.”

Feige announced the Ironheart series back at the Disney Investor Day 2020 presentation.

During the presentation he stated, “Ironheart will be a series for Disney+ about genius inventor Riri Williams who has the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. Dominique Thorne will play the title role.”

He added, “And as we like to do, both Secret Invasion and Ironheart will tie directly to MCU feature films.”

In the comics, Ironheart is an Iron Man knock off. The character actually built her first suit of armor with stolen pieces of equipment and technology from MIT.

She was first introduced in Invincible Iron Man #7 and was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato.

Williams as Ironheart eventually replaces Iron Man after he’s knocked into a coma by Carol Danvers during the events of Civil War II.

She would eventually join the Champions and redesign her suit after a run-in with Thanos.
