It’s been a busy time for Crunchyroll, as in making two recent convention appearances, the anime streaming platform has unveiled a number of their anime offerings for 2023.

Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense Season 2
Kicking things off on December 1st at the 2022 CCXP As Novidades da Plataforma panel in São Paul, one of the most anticipated of their reveals was the official release date for the next season of Bofuri.
In the continuation of the animated take on the original Yuumikan writen and Koin illustrated light novels, VRMMO gamer Kaede Honjo and her alias Maple returns to the world of NewWorld Online, all the while continuing to use put all of skill points into defense.
Bofuri fans can boot up on Crunchyroll in January 2023.

The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up At The Duke’s Mansion
Adapted from the Korean web novel written by Milcha and adapted into a webtoon illustrated by Whale, this series follows Park Eunha, “who after their mysterious death enters the world of a novel.”
“She is revived as a minor character, Raeliana McMillan, who is to be poisoned to death by her own betrothed,” continues an official synopsis. “In order to break up with her dangerous fiancé, she offers a surreptitious deal to the male protagonist of the novel, Noah Wynknight, but winds up romantically with other men that are not part of the plan.”
“Noah Wynknight of inescapable but suspicious charm; honest Justin Shamal who loves only one person; or Adam Taylor for whom you have a soft spot for no reason whenever you see him,” teases Crunchyroll. “Will Raeliana successfully get out of this crisis and create a new ending for herself? A Galaxy Next Door
Produced by Asahi Production and adapted from the manga written and illustrated by Gido Amagakure follows the struggles shoujo mangaka Kuga Ichirou, who in the wake of his father’s death, “has struggled to support his two younger siblings on nothing but a small inheritance and his passion for drawing manga.”
“But it’s becoming harder to keep up with his growing responsibilities and deadlines, especially after his last two assistants quit to follow their dreams,” details Crunchyroll. “Just as he’s nearing his breaking point, the beautiful and scarily competent Shiori Goshiki applies to become his new assistant.”
“But there’s something almost otherworldly about Goshiki, and soon Kuga finds his reality turned upside down when she suddenly declares them engaged to marry!” concludes the anime streamer.
The galaxy will come knocking on Crunchyroll in April 2023
The Fire Hunter
Produced by Signal MD and adapted from the light novel Hikari no Ou written by Rieko Hinata and illustrated by Akihiro Yamada, The Fire Hunter is set in a desolate world filled with magic and overrun fiery beats called Flame Demons.
The only ones left who can protect humanity from the flaming beasts are the Fire Hunters.
One night in the dark woods, a Fire Hunter named Koushi (CV: Shoya Ishige) has a fateful encounter upon with the young villager Touko (CV: Misaki Kuno), and after rescuing her from the a group of Flame Demons, sets out with her on a world-changing adventure.
The hunt begins on Crunchyroll in January 2023
My Clueless First Friend
Rounding out Crunchyroll’s CCXP was My Clueless Friend, which follows the slightly weird and air-headed transfer student Taiyo Takada (CV: Ishizami Suzuka – Kei Arito in Fuuto PI) as he befriends the introverted and slightly pessimistic cursed grim reaper Akane Nishimura (CV: Kohara Konami – Chika Fujiwara in Kaguya-sama – Love is War).
Based on Taku Kawamura’s manga of the same name and produced by Studio Signpost, this slice-of-life rom-com comes to Crunchyroll in 2023.

Campfire Cooking in Another World with my Absurd Skill
Continuing their announcements during their December 3rd Industry panel at the Anime Frontier expo in NYC, the streamer announced their licensing of Camprefire Cooking in Another World with my Absurd Skill.
An adaptation of Rein Eguchi and Masa’s eponymous novel, this isekai follows Takeshi Mukoda, an ordinary office worker who finds himself reborn in a fantasy world with nothing more to his name than a seemingly useless skill called Online Grocery.
However, much to his surprise, Mukoda finds that the skill allows him to summon modern foods – a result which he soon turns to his own advantage.
The cooking begins on January 10th, 2023.
Handyman Saitou in Another World
Upon being isekai’d to another world, everyday repairman Saitou sets out to use skills to help his unique new friends conquer dungeons.
From lock-picking to armor and bag repairs, Saitou will put the experiences he gained in his original life as a handyman to good use in a fantasy setting when his series premieres on January 8th, 2023 (hopefully he can do something to fix Crunchyroll’s video player while he’s at it).
Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari
After they took away his loved family, the Saenome clan, Kunato Hyoma was left with a deep hatred of the world’s resident possession-happy spirits, the Tsukumogami.
Growing concerned over his grandson’s worrying obsession with eliminating the supernatural entities from the world, Kunato’s grandfather sends him to live with Botan Nagatsuki, a girl from a prominent family who loves the Tsukumogami and considers them to be her family, in the hopes that he can gain perspective.
The spirits arrive on Crunchyroll on January 10th, 2023
Masamune-kun’s Revenge R Season 2
“Eight years ago, Makabe Masamune, a weak and chubby boy, was harshly rejected by the beautiful Adagaki Aki,” explains Crunchyroll of this rom-com. “Now, he’s lost a ton of weight, changed his name, and returned as a handsome teenage boy… all to make the ‘Brutal Princess’ Aki fall in love with him so that he can reject her just as harshly as she did.”
Picking up with his attempted execution of his ‘Dead or Love’ plan on Aki during their class trip to Paris, Masamune continues his quest for revenge in Spring 2023.

In order to maintain his established dominance over the human race, the King of the Beasts and Demons receives a regular stream of female human sacrifices – that was, until the 99th sacrifice Sariphi caught the King’s eye.
Picked by the King to become his consort despite being human, Sariphi begins her own ‘Beauty and the Beast’ tale in April 2023.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War
Based on Nihon Falcom’s Trails games, Northern War bridges the gap between the series’ second and third entries and tells the story of the titular conflict.
Specifically, the series follows Lavi, who in wishing to distinguish herself from her infamous, hero-turned-traitor of a grandfather, enlists in the Northern Jaegers of North Ambria.
One day, she gets the chance to just that when receives orders to assemble a platoon for a stealth recon mission into enemy territory.
Their objective? Gather information on the enemy’s mysterious new advantage, the ‘Imperial Hero’.
The Northern Jaegars arrive on Crunchyroll on January 6th, 2023
The Legendary Hero is Dead!
As the incomplete seal on Hell’s Gate begins to weaken, the legions of the underworld are slowly resuming their invasion of the human world.
Concerned about the safety of his village, the perverted farmer Touka Scott digs a number of pitfalls around the land in order to deter the demons – unfortunately, their first victim is the hero Shion, who falls into one and dies.
Finding herself unable to revive Shion, his partner, Necromancer Anri Haynesworth decides that the least she can do is salvage his quest to reseal the Hell’s Gate.
To do so, Anri forces Touka’s soul into Shion’s body, turning him into the world’s new hero.
With this new responsibility on his shoulders, Touka, Anri and the former’s childhood friend Yuna Yunis team up to form the world’s most dysfunctional hero party and set out to save humanity.
