The proper debut of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury came on March 29th when, as part of their-aptly named Gundam Conference, Bandai Namco premiered the series’ first official teaser trailer.

Though brief, the teaser not only revealed the series’ as-of-yet unnamed protagonist – the first proper female lead in franchise history – but also what will ostensibly be her main Mobile Suit, the Gundam Aerial.

As of writing, no price or release date has been announced for these models.

The first proper television entry in the franchise since 2015’s Iron-Blooded Orphans (Gundam Build Divers, released in 2018, features Mobile Suits as Gunpla kits rather than actual vehicles) Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury is set to premiere in October 2022.

When it does, it will do so as the first Gundam series produced since long-time franchise animation studio Sunrise was reorganized into Bandai Namco Filmworks, effectively ending its existence.
