Ghostbusters Transformers Crossover Comic Announced – Will Reveal Origin of Ectotron

Hasbro announced a new Ghostbusters Transformers comic that will reveal the origin story for Ectotron. Hasbro recently announced the new Ecotron action figure which transforms from the classic Ecto-1 Ghostbusters vehicle into a Transformer.

The series will be a five issue mini-series from Erik Burnham and Dan Schoening and is expected to hit comic book shelves on June 2019. Burnham and Schoening are veteran Ghostbusters writers for IDW. They’ve teamed up for [easyazon_link identifier=”B07JX5XZ4X” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Ghostbusters: International[/easyazon_link], [easyazon_link identifier=”168405026X” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Ghostbusters 101: Everyone Answers the Call[/easyazon_link], and they also worked on the [easyazon_link identifier=”1631408739″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Ghostbusters/TMNT[/easyazon_link] team up book.

Burnham teased the series on Twitter stating the first five words of dialogue were “one surreal sentence to write.”

He was still tight-lipped about the title of the new series.

He would confirm that it’s a five issue mini series that will come out in June.

Schoening confirmed the series as well.

With IDW and Hasbro announcing this new origin story for Ectotron, one has to wonder whether he will show up in the new Transformers series due out in March.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes an appearance in the new series which is expected to showcase Cybertron before war broke out between the Autobots and the Decepticons.
